Taipei, Oct. 25 (CNA) The current Level 2 COVID-19 alert, which is set to expire on Nov. 1, will be extended, Health and Welfare Minister Chen Shih-chung (陳時中) said Monday.
Speaking to reporters before heading to a legislative hearing, Chen said the COVID-19 level "will not be lowered on Nov. 2," though he did not say how long the extension would be.
Taiwan has been under the Level 2 alert, the third highest on the nation's four-tier scale, since July 27. Prior to Chen's comments on Monday, the Central Epidemic Command Center had announced six two-week extensions to the alert level.
