Taiwan reports eight new COVID-19 cases, zero deaths

Taipei, Sept. 26 (CNA) Taiwan on Sunday reported eight new COVID-19 cases, all contracted overseas, and zero deaths from the disease, according to the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC).
Six of the eight imported cases were Myanmar nationals who traveled to Taiwan on the same flight on Thursday, most of whom are students, the CECC said.
The two other imported cases were Taiwanese nationals who returned from Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates, according to the CECC.
To date, Taiwan has confirmed a total of 16,189 COVID-19 cases, of which 14,415 are domestic infections reported since May 15, when the country first recorded more than 100 cases in a single day.
Sunday marked the fourth consecutive day with no reported COVID-19 deaths, the number of confirmed COVID-19 fatalities in the country remaining at 841, CECC data showed.
