The militants have promised Russia, the United States and other countries that they would not allow al-Qaeda* and other terrorist groups to operate in territories under their control.

• Man Sentenced to 20 Years in Prison for Attempting to Provide Material Support to ISIS and Attempting to Commit a Hate Crime US Dept. of Justice 13 Sep 2021 -- An Ohio man was sentenced today to 20 years in prison for attempting to provide material support to the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS), and attempting to commit a hate crime, for planning an attack on a synagogue in the Toledo, Ohio area.
