Group purchases of cold-chain food in Manzhouli, North China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, must be reported for further investigation, and local citizens are advised to avoid purchasing cold-chain food online, according to a post from the official WeChat account of the Manzhouli government on Sunday.
Any company purchasing imported cold-chain food from outside Manzhouli must ask for previous purchase proof and check purchase records, or will find goods rejected. Purchase companies must report information about the cold-chain food including origin, quantity and new coronavirus nucleic acid test report within 24 hours.
Companies involved in transportation, storage, processing and retailing must update product information and real names of buyers to ensure a traceable supply chain. Staff must wear masks, gloves and quarantine suits when processing the cold-chain food and must cooperate with further nucleic acid tests.
Local authorities also suggest that citizens reduce the online purchase of cold-chain food, do not buy cold-chain food from unknown sources and check related quarantine certificates before buying. Citizens should wash hands before and after handling cold chain food and should go to hospital immediately and report the source of the food if symptoms of COVID-19 occur.
