Taipei, Nov. 16 (CNA) An Indonesian woman who recently traveled to Taiwan for work has tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the number of cases in the country to 603, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) said Monday.

The woman, who is in her 20s, arrived in Taiwan on Nov. 1 and has shown no symptoms of the disease so far, the CECC said.

She was tested for COVID-19 before completing the mandatory 14-day quarantine, and her result came back positive on Monday, the CECC said.

No contact tracing will be undertaken because the woman did not have contact with anyone while she was in quarantine, the CECC said.

Currently, the CECC requires all migrant domestic workers to stay in designated quarantine centers after arriving in Taiwan and they are tested before their quarantine ends, according to CECC spokesman Chuang Jen-hsiang (莊人祥).

To date, Taiwan has recorded 603 cases of COVID-19, with 511 classified as imported. Of the total, 536 have recovered, seven have died and 60 are in hospital, CECC data shows.

Globally, COVID-19 has infected over 54.5 million people in 190 countries and regions, with more than 1.3 million fatalities, according to CECC statistics as of Monday.
