Geneva, Sep 29, 2020, SPA -- The World Health Organization told a U.N. briefing on Tuesday that 1 million deaths from COVID-19 was "a very sad milestone", but the virus is suppressible.

The number of deaths this year is now double the number of people who die annually from malaria -- and the death rate has increased in recent weeks as infections surge in several countries, Reuters reported.
