
Air Force update for COVID-19

WASHINGTON (AFNS) -- In an effort to minimize the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 and to prioritize the health and safety of Department of the Air Force personnel, the following modifications have been made:

In an effort to minimize the spread of COVID-19 and prioritize the health and safety of participants, Air Force officials have cancelled in-person running of the 2020 Air Force Marathon.

Nine Reserve Citizen Airmen from the 307th Medical Squadron returned to Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana, June 5 after aiding New York in its battle against the COVID-19 pandemic since early April. Throughout the deployment, Airmen worked 12-hour shifts and, in some hospitals, faced patient loads well beyond normal capacity.

More than 400 Ohio National Guard members were activated to provide humanitarian missions in support of COVID-19 relief efforts, continuing the Ohio National Guard's long history of supporting humanitarian efforts throughout Ohio and the nation.
