Official: COVID-19 kills 70 more Iranians over past 24 hours

Tehran, June 3, IRNA -- Head of Iranian Health Ministry's Public Relations Office Kianoush Jahanpour said on Wednesday that some 70 more Iranians died because of coronavirus over the past 24 hours and 125,206 people out of a total of 160,696 infected with the coronavirus have survived and recovered, but, unfortunately, the total number of deaths reached 8,012.

Jahanpour said that 3,134 new infected cases have been detected since yesterday.

Over the last 24 hours, 70 people died due to the deadly virus, he added.

The Iranian official noted that 2,557 cases are in critical condition.

He added that 997,009 tests have so far been carried out in Iran.

Jahanpour urged people to observe smart social distancing plan and wear masks.
