COVID-19 Committee Holds 96th Meeting

Riyadh, June 02, 2020, SPA -- Under the chairmanship of Health Minister Dr. Tawfiq bin Fawzan Al-Rabiah, the COVID-19 Follow-up Committee held its 96th meeting today, in the presence of the members of the Committee representing a number of the relevant governmental entities.

During the meeting, all relevant COVID-19 updates and reports were reviewed.

Following the meeting, Assistant Minister of Health Dr. Mohammed Al-Abdulaali who is also Spokesperson of the Health Ministry said that the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases worldwide is 6200000 cases, of which 2700000 cases have been cured to date. The COVID-19 death toll has jumped to 375000.

Dr. Al-Abdulaali said that 1869 new COVID-19 cases were reported today in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, adding that the new cases were reported in many cities and governorates in the Kingdom.

He pointed out that the total cases tested positive for COVID-19 in the Kingdom reached 89011 cases, including 22672 active cases and 1264 critical cases.

He also pointed out that the cases confirmed today represent 56% for non-Saudis and 44% for Saudi nationals.

The number of the new recoveries is 1484, bringing the total number of recoverees to 65790, Dr. Al-Abdulaali said, adding that the number of the new deaths is 24, bringing the total death toll to 549.

With regard to the tests at the laboratories, Dr. Al-Abdulaali disclosed that 15,364 new tests are conducted, bringing the total number of tests to 853,987 until now.

He called on whoever has symptoms or would like to check-up, to use the self-assessment service in MAWID application, and inquire or consult the Health Center (937) around the clock.
