Health authorities in Wuhan, Central China's Hubei Province, said on Monday that they will test the remaining small number of residents who were missed in a citywide sampling and testing for coronavirus rolled out in mid-May.

Those who have not yet had nucleic acid tests are required to register with their communities before 5 pm on Tuesday.

The local government said it will arrange them to be tested at a later date, and asked them to protect themselves well in the meantime.

The Wuhan Health Commission announced on Monday that the citywide nucleic acid testing has progressed smoothly as of Sunday, and the sampling work is nearing its end.

Wuhan conducted nucleic acid tests on 1.14 million residents on Saturday, bringing the total tested number to 6.57 million amid the citywide testing drive.

Wuhan, a city with a permanent population of 11.12 million, officially launched a citywide nucleic testing drive for all residents on May 14. A total of 159 silent carriers and one confirmed case were reported amid the large-scale testing drive so far.

The city reported zero confirmed COVID-19 cases and zero imported infections on Saturday. There are still seven patients and 30 silent carriers under treatment and observation in Wuhan.
