India's coronavirus cases exceed 118,000

New Delhi, May 22, 2020, SPA -- India's coronavirus cases rose by a record 6,088 to 118,447 in the past day, according to the country's Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Russian News Agency (TASS) reported.

The national death toll increased by 148 to 3,583.

There are currently 66,330 active cases, and 48,534 patients have recovered.

India initially announced a lockdown between March 25 and April 14, which has since been extended three times and is expected to remain in place until May 31.
