COVID-19 deaths cross 3,000-mark, total cases rise to 96,169 in India

The number of COVID-19 deaths in India crossed the 3,000-mark, reaching 3,029, as the total cases reached 96,169 on Monday, said official data released by the federal health ministry.

The biggest spike of 5,242 cases was recorded in a single day, from Sunday till Monday, according to the data.
