UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson Sets Out Plans to Gradually Relax Lockdown Restrictions
The prime minister is expected to present a five-tier alert system for England to allow the authorities to increase coronavirus-related limitations locally, if necessary. Other constituent regions will be urged to follow the recommendations, but they are entitled to follow their own path.
Sputnik is live from London where UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is unveiling a strategy to gradually ease lockdown restrictions in England at the House of Commons.
According to British media, Johnson will encourage more people who cannot work from home to go back to their offices. People will also be allowed to exercise more than once per day.
The United Kingdom reported 211,368 coronavirus cases and 31,241 deaths as of 9:10 a.m. CEST, according to the WHO. Boris Johnson himself contracted the virus, but soon recovered.
