Chinese mainland reports 17 new imported COVID-19 cases

BEIJING, April 18 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese mainland reported 17 new imported cases of the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19) Friday, bringing the total number of imported cases to 1,566, the National Health Commission said Saturday.
The mainland also reported five new suspected cases Friday, all imported ones, the commission said in its daily report.
Of the total imported cases, 709 had been discharged from hospitals after recovery, and 857 were being treated in hospitals with 47 in severe condition, the commission said.
No deaths had been reported from the imported cases.
