Air Force update for COVID-19

WASHINGTON (AFNS) -- In an effort to minimize the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019 and to prioritize the health and safety of Department of the Air Force personnel, the following modifications have been made:

April 10, 2020
Tomorrow, April 11, 2020, the U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron "Thunderbirds" will fly over Las Vegas in honor of front-line COVID-19 responders. The flyover will feature eight F-16 Fighting Falcons, soaring throughout Las Vegas starting at 2:30 PST and will last approximately 25 minutes.

Yesterday, members of the Maryland Air National Guard's 175th Logistics Readiness Squadron assisted the Maryland Office of Preparedness and Response at their warehouse in receiving and processing a shipment of 50 ventilators sent from the state of California.

Total Force medics completed all pre-deployment medical requirements for the more than 120 Air Force reserve medical personnel from across the nation at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, New Jersey, to help combat the COVID-19 outbreak in New York City earlier this week. For 72 hours, the joint-base medics provided public health screenings, immunizations, labs, deployment-related health assessments and pharmacy services to more than 40 doctors, 70 nurses and 13 respiratory technicians.
