Russia, Pakistan, Turkey and some other countries have sent military aircraft to deliver epidemic control materials to China, including medical protective suits, face masks and goggles, to help the nation's fight against COVID-19 infections, said a Chinese military spokesman on Monday.

"Leaders of more than 170 countries and heads of more than 40 international and regional organizations have expressed their condolences and support to China by telephone, letter and statement, as of Feb 29," Wu Qian, an official from China's Ministry of National Defense, said at a press conference.

On the military level, defense departments and military leaders from the United States, New Zealand and other countries have sent letters of condolence to the Chinese military, said Wu.

In the spirit of building a community with a shared future for mankind, China has actively engaged in international cooperation in the prevention and control of the epidemic and prevented the spread of the virus around the world, winning wide recognition, support and help from the international community, said Wu.

Military leaders and senior officials from Pakistan, Malaysia, Afghanistan and other countries expressed condolences through Chinese embassies in their home countries and expressed firm support for China's fight against the novel coronavirus outbreak.

The defense ministries and militaries of Laos, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Singapore, Mongolia, and Trinidad and Tobago have sent donations to China.
