U.S. Department of Defense Press Operations News Release

Secretary of Defense James Mattis designated Army Col. Douglas Watkins as Chief Judge for the Military Commissions Trial Judiciary, Oct. 17.

Watkins replaces Army Col. James Pohl, who retired Sept. 30.

The Chief Judge assigns military judges to preside over each military commissions case referred to trial.
