MOSCOW (Sputnik) – The second suspect detained in connection with preparing a terrorist attack in the Russian capital has admitted his guilt, the judge of the Moscow court which conducts the investigation said Tuesday.

The court arrested two suspects, Aslan Baisultanov and Elman Ashaev, out of three present in court on Tuesday. The total number of suspects detained in connection with the case amounts to 12, according the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) chief Alexander Bortnikov.

'Suspect Ashaev actively cooperates with the investigation and admits his guilt,' the judge said.

Earlier in the day, Baisultanov admitted his guilt as well.

On Monday, the FSB said it had detained several people for plotting a terrorist attack. Media reports claimed the FSB had seized a 5-kilogram bomb from several people who are suspected of planning an attack in Moscow.

According to the investigation, Baisultanov received instructions for a terrorist attack in Moscow in the city of Grozny along with a detonator and explosives.

Some of the suspects are said to have been trained in Islamic State (ISIL) camps, Bortnikov said. Detainees arrived in Russia prior to the advent of Russian forces beginning anti-ISIL airstrikes in Syria.
