ISIL future and Arab states' policy shift
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Tehran, Sept 14, IRNA -- In light of ISILs various tactics of spreading terror among people to carry out ethnic cleaning in Iraq and Syria, regional and Arab countries have now realized that the terrorist ISIL group is an obvious danger, that can jeopardize the security of any country in the Middle East, noted Iran Daily on Sunday.
This is why the Arab states have signaled their readiness to join an international alliance to confront the Takfiri group, added the English-language paper in its Opinion column.
Underscoring that the ISIL's effective means to advance in Iraq is violence, the paper added that Takfiri group uses violence to spread terror among people. It does this by releasing videos of atrocities they commit including, decapitation, crucifixion, mass murder to terrify its opponents.
The use of extreme violence has also helped the group in its propaganda campaign to draw young Muslims from around the world who have been suppressed by their governments, noted the paper.
The Takfiri group began to gain power in parts of Iraq and Syria as it was supported financially and morally by several regional countries including Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Turkey. These countries backed ISIL against the government of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad because they thought that Iran's regional influence will be curtailed if Assad is brought down, wrote the daily.
But the course of events took an unwanted turn when ISIL grew into a regional player from a tiny pawn and presented itself as a grave threat to security and stability in the Middle East, added the daily.
ISIL regards Saudi Arabia, what the paper describes as, 'the paradise of extremism', where it can recruit fresh forces.
