Russian security forces have foiled a terror attack on the country's capital, Moscow, killing two of the plotters and arresting another.
On Monday, Russia's National Anti-Terror Committee issued a statement saying, "Our forceful actions prevented an attempted act of terror in the capital."
The statement added that the three plotters were ethnic Russians and were detected on the outskirts of the capital.
A Russian security official was wounded after a gunfire broke out between the plotters and security forces.
Following the incident, Kremlin issued a statement saying that President Vladimir Putin was personally informed about the foiled attack.
Earlier the same day, at least eight people were killed after two car bombs hit Russia's violence-plagued North Caucasus republic of Dagestan on the same day.
The explosions took place outside a court in Dagestan's capital, Makhachkala.
