Azerbaijan's National Security Ministry says security forces have arrested a group of militants allegedly linked to Al-Qaeda.
Ministry officials told reporters on April 18 the militants were planning to carry out a series of terrorist attacks in Azerbaijan.
The officials said the alleged members of the group had studied in Islamic schools in Syria and received military training in Pakistan and later in Iran.
The officials did not say how many suspects were arrested nor when the arrests were made.
