Indian Police Arrest Militants Preparing Attacks in Delhi
13:36 29/02/2012 NEW DELHI, February 29 (RIA Novosti) - Police in New Delhi on Wednesday arrested two militants who were preparing a series of terrorist attacks against high-ranking Indian officials, India Today reported.
“We do not know as yet which organization they belong to. We are in the midst of a high-level investigation,” New Delhi police spokesman Rajan Bhagat said.
According to media reports, those arrested were possibly members of the Lashkar-i-Taiba (LeT) group, which India believes was involved in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks that left 166 people dead.
A blast outside an entry to the Delhi High Court in India occurred in September 2011, killing 15 people. The number of wounded was about 100 people.
