September 05, 2011
Pakistan's security service has captured Younis al-Mauritani, a top Al-Qaeda figure, and two other senior Al-Qaeda operatives.
Pakistan's Army said in a statement on September 5 that the three were apprehended in the suburbs of Quetta.
The statement said al-Mauritani "was tasked personally by Osama Bin Laden to focus on hitting targets of economic importance in United States of America, Europe and Australia."
The statement also said the "operation was planned and conducted with the technical assistance of United States Intelligence Agencies."
