The explosions took place in Mumbai's Dawar and Zaiveri markets. The blasts damaged nearby buildings including the local opera house.

The cause of the explosions has not yet been confirmed.

Mumbai was struck by terrorists in a huge attack on November 26, 2008, when ten terrorists infiltrated the city by sea from Pakistan and attacked local hotels, railway stations and restaurants, killing 166 people over two days.
