TEHRAN (ISNA)-An Iranian lawmaker raised doubts over press report on death of al-Qaeda Leader Ossama Bin Laden.

"Nothing important had been done after 10 years of Afghanistan's attack and basically we do not know how much the press report is true. But what is apparent is that Americans have used the issue (al-Qaeda) as an excuse to step in Afghanistan," the Head of Iranian Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi told reporters on Monday.

"Americans intended to have an excuse to remain in Afghanistan as they raised the issue of bin Laden, Mullah Omar and Taliban," he noted.

"Some 48 countries have deployed troops in Afghanistan and are trying to capture Taliban members, one the other hand Americans are trying to sign a security pact with Afghanistan."

He also said Afghan nation would not accept the deal as they refused to accept occupation of their land by Soviet Union.

The al-Qaeda leader died during a firefight in Abbottabad, Pakistan, U.S. President Barack Obama said in a televised address.
