14 Killed in Apparent Bombing at Morocco Cafe
VOA News April 28, 2011
Morocco's interior ministry says initial evidence suggests that an explosion that ripped through a cafe in a popular square in Marrakech was a bomb attack.
Officials say at least 14 people were killed and 20 wounded in Thursday's blast, including some foreigners. Some officials and witnesses say the blast appeared to be the work of a suicide bomber.
The explosion tore the facade off the two-story cafe in Jemaa el-Fna square in the heart of Marrakech's old city, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Some information for this report was provided by AP, AFP and Reuters.
