Two Blasts In Eastern Ukraine; No One Hurt
January 20, 2011
DONETSK, Ukraine -- Two blasts occurred simultaneously in the eastern Ukrainian town of Makeevka, in the Donetsk region, but no one was hurt in the explosions.
A local police spokesman said one of the blasts was near the building of a local coal company, and the other at the city's market.
Police said the motive behind the blasts appeared to be extortion.
A letter was found near the site of one of the blasts threatening further explosions if a large sum of money was not paid.
