Three Terror Suspects Arrested in Alleged Terror Plot

Norwegian and U.S. authorities say they have arrested three men, two in Norway and one in Germany, who have links to al-Qaida and were planning a bomb attack. The names of the three men have not been released yet.
The three men had been under surveillance for over a year.
Janne Kristaniansen, head of the Police Security Service, spoke at a press conference on Thursday.
She said it's believed the men have connections with people in other countries who may have links to al-Qaida and are already involved in police investigations in Britain and the United States.
Kristaniansen said one of the men is a Norwegian citizen of Uighur origin. Another is from Iraq and the third is a citizen of Uzbekistan.
Officials believe the three were planning attacks with portable but powerful explosive devices like the ones involved in last year's thwarted attack on the New York City subway system.
Officials say the three are linked with similar plots in New York and England.
Kristaniansen said Thursday the general public hasn't been in danger.
On Wednesday a man appeared in court in Britain after the U.S. issued a warrant for his arrest.
Abid Naseer is accused of planning attacks on the British city of Manchester. The U.S. Justice Department says the plot has links to a failed plot to bomb the New York subway system.
