* Claricor - EADS' TETRA solution for small and medium sized networks
* Advanced voice and data features
* Users benefit from the same capacity as users on bigger networks
26 May 2010
EADS Defence & Security (DS) has won several contracts to set up Claricor solutions in the Asia and Pacific region. The Claricor systems will have several TB3 TETRA base stations and over 1 700 radio terminals in use in airports, power stations and transport and communication companies in China, Korea and Malaysia. These contracts further reinforce the presence of EADS Defence & Security in this strategic area.
Tailored to customers' specific requirements, Claricor is EADS Defence & Security's solution for small to medium-sized networks. Designed to meet the needs of airports and for use in the industry and transport sectors, Claricor offers many of the advanced functions of larger networks, including secure voice and data services, individual calls, group calls and dispatcher functionalities. In addition, Claricor can easily expand, from a small group of users served by a single site to a fully-fledged network addressing the needs of a few thousand subscribers.
In China, EADS Defence & Security, with its Chinese partner HollySys, was chosen by Linyi Airport (in the Shandong province), Taishan Power company, transportation hubs in Tianjin (taxi stands, train and bus transport, etc.) and Hong Kong.
In Korea, EADS Defence & Security signed a contract with HyunDai Oilbank for the delivery of a Claricor system including one TB3 TETRA base station and around 230 TMR880i and THR9 series TETRA radios.
In Malaysia, Supreme Landmobile & Wireless (SLW), one of the most successful licensed 800 MHz operators in the country, has ordered 5 Claricor systems in all. One of the systems, including more than 600 TETRA radios is in use to secure the Petronas Twin Towers – the world’s tallest twin buildings in Kuala Lumpur and users around the commercial areas. On top of providing secure radio communications throughout the buildings, the Claricor network will provide excellent radio coverage for neighbouring buildings in Kuala Lumpur's city centre.
EADS Defence & Security's breakthrough on this market is the result of its TETRA based solutions offering reliability and enhanced capability. Based on EADS' TETRA products, Claricor solutions have proven communication capabilities for small sized networks serving local companies to fully fledged networks covering a whole country" says Dirk Borchardt, Head of Security and Communication Solutions in EADS Defence & Security.
DS has been very successful on the Chinese market during the first months of 2010. It has won the contract from the Guangzhou government for a TETRA network to ensure security at the 16th Asian Games in 2010. It has also co-signed a contract to provide the Shenzhen Public Security Bureau with a TETRA radio system that will offer secure communication services during the 26th World University Games in 2011.
EADS Defence & Security develops digital radio networks and integrated solutions for the long term. The radio communication solutions for public safety play a key role in helping organisations protect citizens.
