191 fresh cases of swine flu reported across India

New Delhi, Dec 1, IRNA – 191 fresh cases of Swine Flu were reported from many states in India raising the total number of the affected cases to 18,198 across the country.

A maximum number of 78 fresh cases were reported from New delhi while the Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra cities followed the national capital in the list with 20 and 19 cases, respectively, said a statement by India's Health Ministry.

It added that the number of affected cases were respectively 11 and 10 in Karnataka and Kerala.

The total number of deaths caused by the fatal disease has, so far, been recored at 575.

Out of a total of 87,417 samples which had been been tested until December 1st by the government and private laboratories across India for swine flue cases, some 20.8 per cent were found positive.

Meanwhile, on 29th November, some 58,775 passengers have been screened at 22 airports with 83 counters manned by 225 doctors and 172 paramedics.

The total number of passengers which had been, so far, screened at the airports medical teams stood at 9,421,757.
