Four new swine flu cases reported in Russia
10:30 16/10/2009 KRASNOYARSK, October 16 (RIA Novosti) - Another four people have been confirmed as having the H1N1 virus in the Siberian city of Krasnoyarsk, Russian consumer watchdog Rospotrebnadzor said on Friday.
The four were among 22 students at a Krasnoyarsk school who were tested for the virus.
As of Friday, there have been 811 confirmed cases of swine flu in Russia, with no reported deaths. Russia's top doctor, Gennady Onishchenko, said that in 562 of the cases the people had become infected whilst traveling abroad.
A number of schools have been temporarily closed over swine flu fears.
According to the latest report from the World Health Organization, 340,000 cases of swine flu have been confirmed throughout the world and 4,100 people have died from the virus as of September 27.
