General Dynamics to Develop Secure Employment Cards for U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services Program

FAIRFAX, Va. – General Dynamics Information Technology, a business unit of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), has been awarded an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract by U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to develop secure credentials for immigrants seeking employment within the United States. The contract has an initial value of $1 million and a maximum potential value of $22 million over five years if all options are exercised.

Under this contract, General Dynamics will support the USCIS Employment Authorization Document Identification Card program by developing the design and security characteristics for the new counterfeit-resistant polycarbonate Employment Authorization Document, an identification card issued to legal U.S. immigrants to demonstrate their eligibility to work in the United States. Production will begin in 2010 once the design phase has been completed.

“General Dynamics understands USCIS’ increasing need to verify the identities of those working in the United States and to protect the American public from potential foreign threats,” said Marcus Collier, senior vice president of General Dynamics Information Technology’s Civilian and Homeland Security Solutions Division. “We will partner with the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to use our expertise to support that need.”
