Taipei, May 4 (CNA) The World Health Organization (WHO) 's reference laboratory will send samples of the swine flu virus strain to Taiwan in late May for vaccine development, the Central Epidemics Command Center said Monday in a statement.

The statement was issued after an international teleconference organized by multinational pharmaceutical companies and the International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Association (IFPMA).

Officials from Taiwan's Centers for Disease Control, the non-profit National Health Research Institutes (NHRI) , as well as representatives from Adimmune Corp. took part in the teleconference on behalf of Taiwan.
