Berlin issues Mexico travel alert after deadly Swine Flu outbreak

Berlin, April 27, IRNA -- Germany's Foreign Ministry here Monday issued a travel warning for Mexico after the outbreak of a deadly swine flu in the Latin American country.
The foreign ministry advised on its official website against traveling to Mexico unless it is absolutely necessary.
It urged all travellers to Mexico to follow up on news reports about the fatal disease which has mainly gripped Mexico, the US and Canada.
A spokesman for the German Health Ministry stressed earlier in the day that there was 'no immediate (health) danger' for Germans.
Klaus Vater told media representatives in Berlin that the government was 'carefully monitoring' the situation.
There have been at least three reported cases of suspected swine flu
in Germany, however none of them have been confirmed yet, according
to German television.
So far the worst affected country is still Mexico, where the outbreak first surfaced, and where the death toll has hit 103, with at least 20 cases confirmed as swine flu, according to Mexican authorities.
In other related news, Spain confirmed Europe's first case of swine flu Monday as the European Union called on its citizens to avoid non-essential trips to Mexico.
