Al-Rubai: Terrorist MKO tortures opponents

IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency

Baghdad, March 24, IRNA - Iraqi National Security Advisor Mowaffaq al-Rubaie said the terrorist Mujahideen Khalq Organization (MKO) tortures and is violent against its opponent members in Camp Ashraf where it is stationed in Iraqi Diyala Province.

Al-Rubai made the remark after a member of terrorist MKO, having fled Camp Ashraf, sought refuge with Iraqi government.

He said in a statement on Monday that the terrorist MKO brings its opposition members under inhumane torture and puts them under pressure.

As an evidence, the Iraqi official has in the statement relied on the information provided by the MKO defector and former recruit, Maki Rafie, who has recently escaped Camp Ashraf.

The Iraqi National Security Advisor has emphasized in the statement that the terrorist MKO leaders violate rights of Camp Ashraf residents and do not let them decide their fate.

The MKO defector has unveiled that the terrorist grouplet's leaders tortured those members who defy or resist orders.

Al-Rubai said in his statement that Iraqi government was trying to hold talks with Iranian officials to have an Iranian passport been issued for Rafie so that the defector will be able to decide on his status.

The Iraqi government has once again asked the terrorist MKO leaders in Camp Ashraf to end their inhumane and dominance-seeking measures and conducts towards residents of the camp and let them decide their own fates.

It says Iraqi government will do its best to end inhumane conditions of residents of Camp Ashraf.

The statement says the terrorist MKO behavior towards its members has been unveiled to show realities in Camp Ashraf.

Iraqi government has for a long time been trying to clarify case of Camp Ashraf and the terrorist MKO status as Iraqis have sought their expulsion.

Iraqi government has announced that the terrorist organization will have no way but leaving the country.

Meanwhile, many victims of MKO measures, including those whose beloved ones or relatives were either kidnapped or killed by the terrorist MKO members during rein of Baathi Regime’s head, Saddam Hussain, demand trial and punishment of the terrorist MKO.

Several seminars and meetings have so far been held on the issue in Baghdad and Diyala province in Iraq.
