Anti-terrorism court Friday remanded to police for questioning three persons arrested in connection with the devastating suicide attack on Marriot Hotel Islamabad, which had killed over 50 people last month.

A new group 'Fidayen-e-Islam' had claimed responsibility for the attack, which had also killed the ambassador of Czech Republic.

The accused were brought to the court under tight security and a police officer sought their 10-day physical remand as the police have to arrest more people with the help of information of the suspects.

Judge Sakhi Muhammad Kahut granted to police a 7-day physical remand of the accused and ordered the police to produce them on October 24th.

Three people Dr. Usman, Rana Ilyas and Hameed Afzal were arrested from the northwestern city of Peshawar and central Punjab province a day ago, police sources said.

They are suspected of being facilitators of suicide bombers and having good relations with extremists, police sources said.

The government had formed a committee of police and experts from security agencies, which has presented a preliminary report to the Prime Minister.

A bomber exploded explosive-laden truck at the main gate of Marriot Hotel on September 20th hours after President Asif Ali Zardari addressed joint session of the parliament.

Secretary of Interior Ministry had admitted in the meeting of Senate Standing Committee that the blast was result of defective security system but the Islamabad police chief had stated that the intelligence agencies had informed police about the explosives-laden vehicle.
