Pakistan hands over al-Libby to US: Musharraf
IRNA - Islamic Republic News Agency
Islamabad, June 1, IRNA
Pakistan's President General Pervez Musharraf said Islamabad has handed over an al-Qaeda suspect to the US, who was announced captured last month.
However, he said he did not know whether Faraj al-Libby was in akistan currently or in the US custody, local press on Wednesday quoted him as saying.
Reports said the suspect was involved in two attempts on the life of President Musharraf in December 2003.
Musharraf, in an interview with CNN, also hinted at the possibility of recognition of Israel. He said that the possibility could arise only if an independent Palestinian state surfaced on the world map.
