RUSSIANS TO TRAIN AT FBI SCHOOL IN US
NOVOSIBIRSK, March 2 (RIA Novosti) - Russian security service personnel will undergo training at an FBI training facility in the United States, the FBI's Antiterrorist Center chief John Lewis told the media in Novosibirsk.
"On their return home, they will share their experiences with their colleagues," Mr. Lewis said.
He praised the level of cooperation between the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Federal Security Service.
"The fact that active-duty FSB operatives participate in FBI's operations and investigations on US territory is a sign of the highest degree of practical cooperation between security services," Mr. Lewis said.
On Tuesday, the fourth international conference of security service leaders opened in Novosibirsk, with relevant law enforcers from the CIS, G8, NATO, EU, ASEAN and Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) attending. The SCO includes Russia, China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The two-day event was attended by 75 delegations form 50 countries, including people from the CIA, FBI and MOSSAD.
The previous conference of security service chiefs took place in Sochi in May 2004.
