EUROPEAN ANTITERRORISM CONVENTION MAY BE SIGNED IN MAY

MOSCOW, February 10 (RIA Novosti's Kristina Rodriguez) - "It is possible that the antiterrorism convention will be signed during the summit meeting in May," Terry Davis, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, told RIA Novosti in a telephone interview in the run-up to his visit to Russia.
The Council of Europe summit meeting is slated for this May in Warsaw.
Mr. Davis emphasized that Russian experts had taken part in crafting the convention.
Speaking of the forthcoming summit meeting, he said that Russian President Vladimir Putin had been invited to the summit, too. Polish President Alexander Kwasniewski issued the invitation, Mr. Davis noted.
German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, French President Jacques Chirac and British Prime Minister Tony Blair are expected to attend the summit. In all, 46 heads of member-states are scheduled to attend the summit in Warsaw on May 16-17.
