Asefi: Arrested Al-Qaeda members to stand trial in Iran

Tehran, Oct 28, IRNA -- Foreign Ministry Spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi on Tuesday rejected a US demand for extradition of Al-Qaeda members who are now in custody in Iran. In reaction to the remarks of the US secretary of state, Asefi said that the arrested Al-Qaeda members have committed crimes in the country and therefore they will be tried and punished according to the laws of the Islamic Republic. The foreign ministry spokesman said that the arrested people will be tried fairly. MM/212 End
