Rome asks Pakistan to add 16 Italians to Al-Qaeda list
IRNA
Islamabad, Oct 24, IRNA - Italy has asked Pakistan to add 16 Italian nationals to a United Nations consolidated list of Al-Qaeda and Taliban suspects for their arrest. "Daily Times" said in its Friday issue that the Rome`s request said that the 16 persons got terrorism training in Pakistan. Pakistan had received the list and an intelligence agency apprehended that these men might be in Afghanistan, according to the daily. "We will arrest and hand over to the US if they cross into Pakistan," the daily quoted a senior Pakistani government official as saying. Brushing aside Italy`s observation that they were trained in Pakistan, the newspaper said that the suspects might be of Tunisian origin. Italy was asked to provide evidence that the said men were in Pakistan. MHA/TSH/211 End
