Broad Industry Announcement Seeks Innovative Suppliers to Support Deepwater Program

WASHINGTON, DC, August 28th, 2002 -- Integrated Coast Guard Systems (ICGS), a joint venture of Lockheed Martin Naval Electronic Systems and Northrop Grumman Ship System, issued a broad industry announcement today seeking suppliers who may have new technologies and product capabilities that support the Integrated Deepwater Program. The Integrated Deepwater Program will recapitalize the Coast Guard's aging assets by modernizing or replacing them with a state-of-the-market, interoperable system of cutters and aircraft as well as their supporting command, control, computer, communications, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (C4ISR) and logistics infrastructure. On June 25, 2002, the Coast Guard awarded the Deepwater contract to ICGS.

Under its Open Business Mode TM philosophy, ICGS will continuously review new technologies, capabilities, and opportunities in pursuit of providing the Coast Guard with the most cost effective system solutions, and will engage suppliers that can provide innovation in products and services to accomplish that goal.

The window for suppliers to register for consideration is Aug. 29 through noon, Sept. 6. Specific areas of interest are:

Command, Control, Communication, Computing, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance (C4ISR)
Integrated Logistics Support
System Engineering and Integration Team (SEIT)
