
Gulfstream C-37A Ordered by U.S. Coast Guard
Special Mission Gulfstream V Will Be Used For Transport/Command and Control Operations
U.S. Coast Guard Has Flown Gulfstream Aircraft For 37 Years
SAVANNAH, Ga. – Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, a wholly owned subsidiary of General Dynamics (NYSE: GD), will deliver a C-37A (a Gulfstream V) to the U.S. Coast Guard in the second quarter of 2002; the order was received in Dec. 2000. The aircraft will be used for domestic and international transportation and command and control operations.

"The Gulfstream V will provide the Coast Guard with a new level of outstanding mission performance and reliability."
The U.S. Coast Guard has been operating Gulfstream aircraft since 1963 when it purchased a Gulfstream I. The aircraft, designated VC-4A, remains in service. The Coast Guard also flies a C-20B, a Gulfstream III, which will be replaced by the new Gulfstream V.
Gulfstream Vs operated by the U.S. armed forces are designated C-37As. Last October, the U.S. Air Force ordered five C-37As as part of a $477 million lease and service support agreement. The U.S. government has ordered a total of 12 C-37As.
In addition to the Gulfstream Vs, the U.S. government also operates an extensive fleet of Gulfstream III and Gulfstream IV aircraft in a variety of executive transport and special mission roles.
