Brazilian Air Force commander to visit
Brazil's air force commander will visit Seoul May 7 to discuss military exchanges and defense industry cooperation between the two countries, the Brazilian Embassy here said yesterday.
Luiz Carlos Da Silva Bueno, commander in chief of Brazil's Air Force, was invited by South Korean Air Force Chief of Staff Lee Han-ho. He will meet Lee and other South Korean officials before leaving on May 14.
Brazil has the largest air force in Latin America with about 50,000 personnel, 272 combat aircraft, and 45 armed helicopters, according to Globalsecurity.org., a Web site specializing in military affairs.
Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva will visit Seoul in May 24-27 to participate in the 6th Global Forum on Reinventing Governance. Lula will discuss ways to upgrade bilateral ties between the two countries in talks here with President Roh Moo-hyun.
