The war on the web

By Ben Shearman and the Crikey webcrawlers

Crikey can't pretend we'll be breaking any scoops over the duration of the war but as a web-based medium we can provide a useful web-guide to the war. Please send in any good links you spot which we can send around:

The ABC onlinewebsite is constantly updated with the latest news from correspondents around the world.

The Age has full coverage of the conflict including an archive of all its stories on the Iraq crisis for the last six weeks.

The Guardian - The best of the British newspaper websites and the most openly anti-war.

BBC News -

Fox News - Rupert's cable news station is now outrating CNN, its right-wing commentators will support any move made by Bush.

United Nations news room - it will be interesting to see how the security council reacts to an attack on Iraq without its authorisation.

Janes - Expert commentary, particularly on military and intelligence issues. It's a subscriber site but you can access good info with a free registration.

globalsecurity.org - Lots of resources on potential military options against Iraq, Iraqi military capabilities and a complete timeline of events.

US Department of Defense - with the latest DoD news briefings and lots of links to other US military sites.

The Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade site

Disinfopedia - has some great articles, including "Weapons of Mass Deception", which questions many of the "facts" being thrown around by George Dubya et al. It also highlights the five "key messages" that Bush and his allies are using throughout the war.

democraticunderground.com - Try this one for solid anti-Bush views.
