Partner nations have committed over $4 billion for the procurement of weapons for Ukraine in the United States under the PURL initiative.

As stated by Ukraine's Minister of Defence, Denys Shmyhal, partners announced new contributions this week, including:

  • $500 million from Norway, Poland, and the Netherlands
  • $200 million from Germany
  • CAD 200 million from Canada

Australia and New Zealand also joined PURL this week, announcing a contribution exceeding $70 million. Thus, the initiative now includes Ukraine's partners from across the globe. The PURL initiative has now been joined by a total of 21 countries.

"PURL enables partner nations to fund the procurement of U.S. weapons based on a prioritized list of requirements developed by Ukraine and approved by the United States and NATO. Since its launch, PURL has accounted for approximately 75% of all missiles for Patriot systems and nearly 90% of the missiles for other air defense systems delivered to Ukraine," stated Denys Shmyhal.

He expressed gratitude to NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte for his leadership and support, and to every partner nation that has joined the PURL initiative.
