Kremlin: Russia Remains Fully Open to Peace Negotiation Process on Ukraine

Russia is interested in achieving its goals through political and diplomatic means, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday.

"We are interested in achieving our goals through political and diplomatic means. In this regard, our position has not changed at all, it has been repeatedly reaffirmed by the president of our country, and we consistently adhere to this position," Peskov told reporters, adding that Russia remains fully open to the negotiation process on Ukraine.

Kremlin Calls Trump's Plan for Settlement in Ukraine Substantive

Dmitry Peskov called US President Donald Trump's proposal for a settlement in Ukraine substantive.

"Right now, the only thing that is substantive is the American proposal, Trump's proposal. We believe this could become a very good basis for negotiations," Peskov told reporters.

Russia Waiting for US to Share Plans for Settlement Through Official Channels

Russia is waiting for the United States to share its plans for a settlement in Ukraine, preferably through official channels, Peskov said.

"We are waiting for the American side to share its contacts [plans], preferably, of course, officially," Peskov told reporters.

The official also did not rule out that the time will come for contacts between Russia and the United States regarding this peace plan at some point.

Work is underway between the United States and Ukraine based on US President Donald Trump's draft peace plan, Peskov said.

"Work is underway between Ukrainians and Americans based on this Trump's draft," Peskov told reporters.

Russia's turn will come, and it will engage in substantive work on the US plan for a Ukrainian settlement, the spokesman added.

Moscow Yet to Receive Updated 19-Point Peace Plan for Ukraine

Moscow has not received an updated 19-point peace plan for Ukraine, Dmitry Peskov said.

"No. That is, we do not know what it is all about," Peskov told reporters when asked whether Moscow had received an updated peace plan for Ukraine.

Russia Thanks Turkiye for Readiness to Ensure Conditions for Moscow-Kiev Talks

Russia is grateful to Turkiye for its willingness to provide conditions for the continuation of the negotiation process between Russia and Ukraine, Peskov said.

During a phone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed his intention to assist the negotiations and his willingness to make Istanbul available for these purposes.

"The Turkish side continues to offer its services. We are grateful to our Turkish friends for this. They are ready to provide all the conditions for continuing the negotiation process," Peskov told reporters.

Moscow Understands Adjustments Being Made to US's Ukraine Settlement Plan

Moscow understands that adjustments are being made to the published text of US President Donald Trump's plan for the settlement Ukraine, Dmitry Peskov said.

"We understand that some adjustments are being made to the text that was published. We understand that the text that was unofficially received by us earlier has now undergone changes," Peskov told reporters.

Russia was given a draft of the US plan for Ukraine, the official said, adding that the document largely corresponded to the spirit of Anchorage.

Additionally, the official said that many contradictory information and statements are being published about the US peace plan for Ukraine, noting that information chaos is taking place.

Istanbul Talks Paused Through No Fault of Russia, Process Interrupted by Kiev

The talks in Istanbul were paused through no fault of Russia, as the process was interrupted by Ukraine, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Tuesday.

"The negotiations in Istanbul were put on hold through no fault of ours, nor by our will. Representatives of the Kiev regime interrupted this negotiation process," Peskov told reporters.

Impossible to Talk About Security System Without Europe's Participation

It is impossible to talk about a security system without Europe's participation, at some point, it will be necessary, Peskov said, commenting on European role in the Ukraine peace process.

"Discussing the security system in Europe, talking about security guarantees within the security system, in general, is probably difficult, practically impossible, without the participation of Europeans. At some point, of course, this will be necessary," Peskov told reporters.

Kremlin Has Nothing to Say About Reports on US Driscoll's Meeting With Russian Officials

Dmitry Peskov said he had nothing to comment on media reports about US Army Secretary Daniel Driscoll's meeting with Russian officials.

"We still have nothing to say. We are monitoring media reports. We are analyzing them," Peskov told reporters in response to a question on the matter.

Earlier in the day, Politico reported, citing sources, that Driscoll would present a revised version of the US-proposed plan for resolving the conflict in Ukraine to Russian officials in Abu Dhabi.
