Russia Takes Control of Settlements in Donetsk People's Republic, Dnepropetrovsk and Kharkov Regions

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - The Russian forces have taken control of the Petropavlovka settlement in Kharkov region, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday.

"The settlement of Petropavlovka, Kharkov region, has been liberated," the statement said.

Russia's Zapad battlegroup has taken control of Kupyansk in the Kharkov region and continues to destroy encircled Ukrainian troops on the left bank of the Oskil River, the Russian Ministry of Defense said on Friday.

"As a result of active operations, units of the Zapad battlegroup have completed the liberation of the city of Kupyansk in the Kharkov region and continue to destroy Ukrainian armed forces formations encircled on the left bank of the Oskil River," the ministry said in a statement.

Russian forces also took control of Novoselovka, Stavky, Yampol and Maslyakovka in the Donetsk People's Republic, the ministry said, adding that the Russian forces have completed the liberation of the settlement of Radostnoye within the past week.

Russia's Tsentr battlegroup has eliminated over 3,165 Ukrainian military personnel over the past week, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Friday.

"In total, over the past week, Ukrainian armed forces in the area of responsibility of the Tsentr group of forces lost over 3,165 servicepeople, four tanks, 39 armored fighting vehicles, 45 cars, 10 field artillery pieces, and two electronic warfare stations," the ministry said in a statement.

Russia's Vostok battlegroup has eliminated up to 1,790 Ukrainian soldiers, the ministry also said, adding that Kiev has lost over 1,570 military personnel in battles with Russia's Zapad (West) group of troops.

Russia's Yug battlegroup has eliminated over 1,195 Ukrainian soldiers in past week, while Russia's Sever battlegroup has eliminated over 1,155 Ukrainian servicepeople, the ministry added.

The Russian armed forces also repelled six Ukrainian attacks from Grishino area in the DPR aimed at unblocking the encircled Ukrainian group, killing up to 50 Ukrainian soldiers, the ministry said, Russian troops thwarted five attempts by Ukrainian forces to break out of the encirclement in Dimitrov.

This past night, Russian air defenses shot down 33 Ukrainian drones, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

"This past night, from 11:00 PM on November 20 of this year to 7:00 AM Moscow time on November 21 of this year, air defense systems on duty intercepted and destroyed 33 Ukrainian aircraft-type unmanned aerial vehicles," the ministry said.

It said seven drones were shot down over the Smolensk Region, seven over the Rostov Region, six over the Belgorod Region, five over the Black Sea, four over Crimea, two each over the Voronezh Region and two over the Krasnodar Territory.
