The initial units of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have begun daily use of the 'Impulse' official digital system for personnel record-keeping. They now issue personnel orders, record leave and temporary duty assignments, log appointments and rank promotions, and document other service-related events quickly and without duplication in paper logs or spreadsheets.

"The Air Assault Command was the first to organize its brigades' work in 'Impulse' - the official military tool for personnel record-keeping. I would like to particularly note the 170th Separate Logistics Regiment and the 33rd Separate Engineer Regiment of the Air Assault Forces. These units are already issuing orders and registering personnel-related events on a daily basis," said Oksana Ferchuk, Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine for Digital Development, Digital Transformation, and Digitalization.

Every week, implementation teams from the AFU's Center for Scaling Technological Solutions and the Ministry of Defence assist Air Assault Forces units and other commands in transitioning to daily operations in 'Impulse'. The development team actively collaborates with users, gathers feedback, and continues to improve the system's usability.

"We are currently testing 'Impulse' in pilot mode—gaining experience, filling electronic logs, and integrating processes. At this stage, we keep parallel paper documentation and notify the development team of any issues encountered in the software. However, we are gradually progressing toward a full transition to the digital personnel record-keeping system," said Colonel Viktor Shchipanskyi, Head of the Personnel Directorate (G1) of the Command Headquarters of the Air Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The 'Impulse' system was first deployed with the Air Assault Forces. Scaling of the system to the Land Forces is currently underway. Gradually, 'Impulse' will become the primary platform for daily personnel record-keeping and document automation across units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
