The President met with the Prosecutor General of Ukraine

On Friday, President Gitanas Nausėda met with Ruslan Kravchenko, Prosecutor General of Ukraine.
The President assured the Prosecutor General that Lithuania has consistently supported, supports, and will continue to support Ukraine in its fight against the aggressor, as well as in the investigation and prosecution of crimes of aggression, crimes against humanity, and war crimes.
Emphasizing that close international cooperation between prosecutors and other law enforcement agencies is essential to achieving justice, the President thanked the prosecutors of Ukraine and Lithuania for their dedicated work in bringing perpetrators to justice and wished them continued success and fruitful cooperation.
Prosecutors from Lithuania and Ukraine are successfully cooperating within the Joint Investigation Team (JIT), established on March 25, 2022, by the Prosecutors General of Ukraine, Lithuania and Poland. Currently, seven countries, as well as Europol and the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, have joined the JIT.
Lithuania consistently advocates for the establishment of a Special Tribunal for the Crime of Aggression against Ukraine, supported by the Council of Europe, and continues to call on all states to fulfill their political commitments to make this tribunal a reality.
